Welcome to the Canowindra CWA Branch website

The Canowindra branch of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) is a very active group that helps the local community.and provides a place of friendship for a number of women of Canowindra.  Recipients of the Canowindra Community Group of the Year Award 2020, the group is going from strength to strength in over nine decades of operation.

For over 90 years Canowindra CWA has given service to our community. During the year of 2019, we have weathered one of the worst droughts on record, the effects of the bush fires and now COVID19. Throughout, our members have kept their resilience and helped the community, always with a happy smile. We have packed and distributed care packages from many sources, pamper packs for farmers wives and most recently fresh produce and dry goods donated by Cadia Valley Operations. One of these deliveries involved several members driving around the district only a few days before Christmas .It gives us immense pleasure to see the happy smiles and tears of joy.

Would you like to to meet up with other women in Canowindra? Are you concerned about improving the conditions of women and their families in the country? Then why not join the Country Women’s Association of New South Wales?

We meet once a month (and in lockdown time by Zoom) and participate in many different activities from fundraising, handicrafts and cultural activities to debating current social or environmental issues.
